About OSYPAA XII

OSYPAA is short for "Oregon State Conferency of Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous". Our goal for this conference is to show young people that they can recover from Alcoholism through the application of the program of Alcoholics Anonymous in their lives, along with becoming a part of a fellowship of people in Alcoholics Anonymous who share in a common problem and a common solution.

"We, of ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS, know thousands of men and women who were once just as hopeless as Bill. Nearly all have recovered. They have solved the drink problem.

We are average Americans. All sections of this country and many of its occupations are represented, as well as many political, economic, social, and religious backgrounds. We are people who normally would not mix. But there exists among us a fellowship, a friendliness, and an understanding which is indescribably wonderful. We are like the passengers of a great liner the moment after rescue from shipwreck when camaraderie, joyousness and democracy pervade the vessel from steerage to Captain's table. Unlike the feelings of the ship's passengers, however, our joy in escape from disaster does not subside as we go our individual ways. The feeling of having shared in a common peril is one element in the powerful cement which binds us. But that in itself would never have held us together as we are now joined.

The tremendous fact for every one of us is that we have discovered a common solution. We have a way out on which we can absolutely agree, and upon which we can join in brotherly and harmonious action. This is the great news this book carries to those who suffer from alcoholism." - Alcoholics Anonymous page 17.

Get involved

Would you like to get involved and be of service to OSYPAA XII?

If so, please join us at our business meetings the 2nd Sunday of every month at First Presbyterian Church in Central Point (456 W. Pine Street Central Point, OR 97502) at 2pm!

This a great way to get into service, and be connected to something bigger than yourself. Also, we have a lot of fun!

"You are going to meet these new friends in your own community. Near you, alcoholics are dying helplessly like people in a sinking ship. If you live in a large place, there are hundreds. High and low, rich and poor, these are future fellows of Alcoholics Anonymous. Among them you will make lifelong friends. You will be bound to them with new and wonderful ties, for you will escape disaster together and you will commence shoulder to shoulder your common journey. Then you will know what it means to give of yourself that others may survive and rediscover life." - Alcoholics Anonymous page 152-153.
